   'Dani's just so insensitive sometimes...'
Mumtaz: Look at those two snogging! I think they're stuck together!
Dani: Mumtaz, er... how about you and boyfriends and getting married and that? I mean, will your parents fix it and everything for you?
Mumtaz: Yes. They did for my sister and my brothers. But not yet!
Dani: Oh! No offence, but I'd hate it if my mum tried to tell me who I could go out with, never mind who I was going to marry. It doesn't seem right...
Mumtaz: Oh no, not again. I get sick of people going on about it and thinking our parents are really cruel and treat us badly.
Dani: Well, look, you're my mate, right, so I'm asking you about it. I just can't imagine what it's like, that's all. And I know you like David, you can't fool me!
Mumtaz: Okay, well I will have, like, an arranged marriage, and I know lots of white people and black people think is really weird, but I think it's okay.
Dani: So is that something that only Muslims do?
Mumtaz: No, it's not really a religious thing. Balvinder's a Sikh, and I'm a Muslim, and Anand's a Hindu, but the marriage thing is kind of the same. It's to do with being from India and Pakistan and places like that, it's like a traditional way of life there, whatever your religion is.
