My Mum and my Nan talk to each other in Welsh and for as long as I can remember my Mum has always spoken to me and my brother in Welsh. Our Dad speaks to us in English so we grew up speaking both languages. I can't really write in Welsh but I can make out street signs and that when we go back 'home'.

The best thing about it is that I can talk to my grandparents in Welsh, and it's like an extra feeling of belonging. My brother is really keen on rugby (well, he is Welsh!) and he says he can insult most referees without them knowing what he's saying.

This is Welsh for 'Were you born this stupid or do you have to practice?'
